Not only is winter in Špindlerův Mlýn magical, it is, in particular, abundant in activities geared toward visitor participation. Thanks to its location in the very heart of the Giant Mountains, it is a great base for various winter sports.
Skiing
Those fond of skiing would find it difficult to chose a more picturesque place for this sport. Not only will they find a modern ski resort with 27 km of perfectly groomed slopes, but it is also very popular with visitors for its pleasant, family-like atmosphere. Yet it's not small at all (6 cable cars and 11 ski lifts!), and the services provided here will take you by surprise. No matter if you are a skier, snowboarder or cross-country skier – in Špindlerův Mlýn you will enjoy your beloved sport to the fullest.
Skitouring
There are several ski mountaineering trails in Špindlerův Mlýn and its surroundings (Pec pod Sněžkou, Rokytnice nad Jizerou). When the weather is good, experienced skiers can take one of them to set out for some adventure – however, it is necessary to remember that the trails may not be safe. Those without enough experience can get a mountain guide to help with orientation on the difficult trails.
Sledging
Everyone loves sledging. If you don’t, your attitude will certainly change after trying the sledging track in Špindlerův Mlýn :-). Enjoy a cool ride along the longest illuminated sledging track in the Czech Republic with your family. The three-kilometre-long track and 400metre elevation difference present a great experience, further supported by the fact that you will climb to the start by bus, which along with sledge rental is included in the track ticket.
